The 2026 KAC CROSS COUNTRY CLASSIC

Monday saw the running of the 2026 KAC XC Classic - in a tricky season, taking advantage of the small dump of snow in the days before, and with some expert grooming by Charlotte Pass Snow Resort the KAC XC Classic was run along the road from Perisher, starting at Perisher Gap, to finish at the top of the driveway at Charlotte Pass.

Good visibility, moderate temparatures and freezing horizontal winds in tough gusts made for a challenging race, that saw members of the National XC Team fly through, mere mortals also acheived great times and the traditional soup and breadroll at the Chalet served as a great spot to ensure the tales of adversity and times for results grew!!

Difficulties with the compilation of results due to duplicated transponders, swapped bibs and unlogged race withdrawals saw a long delay for competitors at the Chalet.  The KAC Race Committee apologises for the cancellation of the presentation of prizes but felt it best to ensure competitors could safely ski back to Perisher while the weather held.  The KAC Race Committee will contact the prize winners in the days following to arrange distribution of the prizes.
