The 2026 Thredbo JUNIOR Interclub Competition

Yesterday our incredible KAC Junior Race Team competed in the 2026 Thredbo Junior Interclub competition for just the second time in our history. Every KAC Member should be incredibly proud of this wonderful group of Juniors, the future of our wonderful Club, who represented KAC so magnificently, in what can be best described as "challenging" conditions.

We are very proud to announce that KAC finished 3rd overall, up one place from last year's 4th. To achieve third place there were some incredible individual and age group performances. It is impossible to mention the achievements of each individual, but I will highlight some.

Downhill High Achievers

Our first "prize winner" of the day was Harriet Rees (who also competed last year) who was awarded Youngest Female Skier. Harriet was also the 6th fastest Female Skier in the 11 years and Under age group. Zara Snow was 5th in the same category at age 8. Both have many more years in this age group!

Next up Sophie Cassidy won her age group as the Fastest Female Skier 11 Years and Under. Sophie has one more year in this age category. Incredibly, Sophie was also the 7th fastest female skier across all age groups and was the 12th fastest skier, male and female across all age groups. This is against a total of 109 competitors.

From strength to strength, Oliver Rees and Sidney Snow finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the fastest Male Skier 11 Years and Under age group. Both have another year in this category and at age 10 finished 25th and 29th across all age groups, male and female.

Not surprisingly given those results, KAC won the Fastest Team 11 years and Under!

Max Cook kept the ride going by placing 3rd in the 12 to 14 Fastest Male Skier age category. Max also finished, at age 13, 17th fastest skier across all age categories, male and female.

Snowboarding High Achievers

This year the Thredbo Junior Interclub ran a full snowboard competition as well. In further wonderful performances, Arlo Snow-Wisse won the 12 to 14 Year Fastest Male Snowboarder, at age 12, and Ally Folsom was second in the 15 to 18 Fastest Female Snowboarder at age 15! Unfortunately, they were unable to be at the presentation for a photo.
