The Kosciusko Alpine Club has had a long association with the hut, acquiring it to use it exclusively for skiing in winter in 1938.
White’s River Hut is out on the Main Range, nestled in the Munyang Corridor on the way to Schlink Pass from Guthega. Surrounded by Snow Gum slopes perfect for skiing.
Walking or Cycling in Summer or X-Country skiing in Winter is the only way to get to the Hut. If you love the Backcountry, this is a great spot to spend some time.

Newly restored in 2011 by the KAC, Kosciusko Huts Association & NPWS staff, this hut is probably the most famous hut in Kosciuszko National Park, for XC skiers.
The walls and roof are of iron and the floor of wood. A stone fireplace with a large wood pile will keep even the longest blizzard away.
The hut has two well maintained rooms with wide bunks and the bathroom is just a short walk away, outside.
